14 years after a memorable concert at Egilshöll, the iconic British pop band will be returning to Iceland for a performance to kick off the summer.

RÚV reports that Duran Duran will be holding a concert at Laugardalshöll on June 25. Their last visit to Iceland, in 2005, was an extraordinary event attended by thousands of fans, both veteran and new.

“If the concert we had in Iceland in 2005 is anything to go by, then this next concert is going to be tremendous fun and a great experience,” vocalist Simon Le Bon is quoted as saying in a statement. “I look forward to staying up all night, like I did last time.”

Duran Duran is not only a world famous pop band, practically defining the sound of 80s pop with such hits as ‘Girls On Film’, ‘Rio’ and ‘Hungry Like The Wolf’, they also have a dedicated fanbase in Iceland. So much so that, for a large portion of the 80s, there were basically only two kinds of Icelanders: Wham! fans and Duran Duran fans.

Tickets will go on sale April 24 and can be bought online.
